Prizes [7 May 2011]
Two prestigeous prizes have been awarded by CMA-members recently:

Professor Snorre Christiansen won the "Søstrene Dals pris" for his research. Read more.

Research highlights

March 2012:
The paper "A B-spline-like basis for the Powell-Sabin 12-split based on simplex splines", written by Tom Lyche together with Elaine Cohen and Richard F. Riesenfeld (USA) is accepted by the American Mathematical Society journal "Mathematics of Computation". Using simplex splines, in a new way, the paper presents a stable basis for piecewise quadratic polynomials of smoothness C1 on arbitrary triangulations. It also establishes many of their fundamental computationally desirable properties that show that the new basis is a generalization of both the widely used Bernstein basis polynomials used for Bézier curves and univariate B-splines.
